Easter Vigil

On Holy Saturday evening we celebrated the Easter Vigil in the Holy Night. The new fire was blessed, the Paschal Candle lit, the waters of baptism blessed, and new members of the Church initiated.

On Holy Thursday, April 13th, Bishop Seamus and the priests of the diocese gathered at the Cathedral to celebrate the annual Chrism Mass. During this liturgy the priests of the diocese renewed their priestly commitment and the bishop blessed the sacred oils - Oil of the Sick, Oil of Catechumens and Oil of Chrism. These oils are to be used in the Sacraments for the coming year. See photos and listen to homily.

The Cathedral and St John's Church, Grainger Street joined together for a joint celebration of the Stations of the Cross.

9 April was Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord.
