Work continues, the flooring is now down and the Hub moves towards completion.
We would like to offer Yvette, who has led the work in the Mercy Hub to date, our thanks and appreciation for all her hard work and dedication in getting the Mercy Hub to this stage and preparing the way forward.
As you may have already heard I am leaving my post as Cathedral Outreach Co-ordinator for the Mercy Hub. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much I’ve enjoyed my time here and you have all played a part in that. So why am I leaving after just 8 months? well.. In September I start training at a Theological College in Birmingham to become a Vicar in the Church of England. I will be residential for two years and upon successful completion of the course I will be ordained a deacon and begin curacy in a parish in the North East. My curacy will be an opportunity to serve alongside an experienced Vicar putting into practice the knowledge gained from college and learning from them as I prepare for my own ministry. The year after I hope to become an ordained Priest. I intend to keep in touch and I ask that you hold the Mercy Hub in your prayers in this time of transition.
Thank you again’
Yvette and Fr Dermott earlier in the year as the work on the HUB was beginning.
